ECAF OVERVIEW

The Emerald Coast Advertising Federation's purpose is to provide leadership on issues involving and affecting advertising, and through the efforts of its members:
  • To strive for the betterment of advertising and its services to the public by encouraging, recognizing and rewarding excellence in all fields of advertising, including public service.
  • To cooperate with government officials at the State and local levels, and to represent the industry's position before legislative and administrative bodies.
  • To enhance the knowledge and skills of advertising practitioners, support and promote advertising education and encourage talented young people to enter the advertising profession.
  • To promote and encourage the maintenance of high ethical standards, including support of self regulatory programs designed to ensure that advertising is truthful and accurate.
  • To promote a better understanding of the functions and value of advertising among the public, in academia, and in halls of government.
  • To promote and encourage fellowship, understanding and cooperation among the various disciplines of the advertising profession.

4th District Club of the Year – Di
vision III
On May 14, on behalf of the members of the Emerald Coast Advertising Federation, Sabrina McLaughlin accepted the 4th District's Club of the Year award for Division III.  Our club also received over 200 points on the Club Achievement survey and made the District's "A-List".  Not only are these great honors, but we received over $700 in prize money! A big thanks goes out to our hard working club members for making this possible! 

ECAF HISTORY

The Emerald Coast Advertising Federation began 12 years ago. Here is a brief recap of the club's progress.

Meetings:
• Emerald Coast Advertising Federation held their first
  meeting September 1992
• Jim Clark initiated the organization of the club
• First meetings were held at Holiday Inn on Okaloosa Island
• Meetings were held at Harry T's from 1994-2000
• Meetings held at Angler's from 2000-2002
• Meetings held at Fudpucker's in Destin
  beginning in September 2002
• Meetings returned to Angler’s in 2003

ECAF Presidents:
• Jim Clark was the first president from 1992-93
• Jack Jernigan was the second president from 1993-94
• Warren Meigs was president from 1994-95
• Patty Allegretto was the next president for three months in 1995
• Kay Elmore was president from 1995-98
• Jeanne Rief was president from 1998-99
• John Whitehead was president from 1999-2000
• Mark Hamrick was president from 2000-01
• Brenda Kastor was president from 2001-02
• Joy Todd took was president from 2002-03
• Dawn O’Connor was president from 2003-04
• Sabrina McLaughlin was president from 2004-05
• Aileen Koon has been the president since July 2005
