For Banks

Did you know that the best advertising for banks any
really any business is word of mouth. Of course this
is not advertising method we need but it is by far the
most important.
Banks often use newspaper, radio, billboard and other
media for advertisement of their products and services.
Different products are featured at different times of
the year. An example would be loans advertised during
the spring and summer months for customers looking to
buy new homes, boats or recreational vehicles. It is
important to advertise your checking, savings and CD’s
all year since these are our core accounts.
Besides advertising products and services a bank must
convey it’s level of customer service. This is
the most important aspect of retaining customers. Most
banks offer the same type of products, but it’s
the exceptional customer service that keeps them coming
back.
A good example of this was after Hurricane Ivan we contacted
all of our loan customers to offer them relief on their
loan payments. Although we did not have a large amount
of customers take advantage of this service, the ones
that used it were very grateful.
Advertising brings the customers in the door but like
all businesses, it is the customer service that retains
them. The best advice I can give is make sure your employees
enjoy their job and that will be reflected in their level
of customer service. That is the only thing that separates
us from the business down the street. |
